My full name is… Courtney Leigh Cleary.
My nicknames are… Court, Kurt.
My birthday is… July 23rd.
My major is… Business Administration.
My family members are… Tom (dad), Marilyn (mom), and brother Sean (23 yrs.)
My family members who competed in college or professional athletics are… my brother Sean played lacrosse at NYIT.
My hobbies/interests are… going to the beach, making playlists on Spotify, and watching Olympic gymnastic floor routines.
I participate in several volunteer activities on campus, such as… donating blood for the American Red Cross and I participate in leaf raking with the team. As a team, we also participate in Relay for Life every year.
I chose GSU because… because the girls that hosted me on my official visit were incredibly nice to me and told me about how much they loved GSU.
My favorite athlete is… Aly Raisman.
My favorite movie is… Titanic.
My favorite TV show is… The West Wing.
My favorite sports team is… the New York Giants.
My favorite food is… sushi.
My favorite place on campus is… Fraser Library.
My favorite cartoon character is… Reggie Rocket.
My favorite vacation spot is…Marco Island.
My favorite volleyball player is… Kerri Walsh-Jennings.
I started volleyball in… 9th grade.
My most memorable match is… winning county finals my senior year of high school. We went to 5 sets with our biggest rival in the county and won set five 25-23.
My favorite thing about GSU Volleyball is… my teammates, they are my best friends in the entire world. I can’t imagine my life without them.
The best road trip I’ve ever taken was… when my family used to go up to Camden, Maine every single year. It’s absolutely breathtaking up there. We also drove around Acadia National Park which is so beautiful.
This summer, I… worked as a rehab aide at the outpatient physical therapy department at St. Charles Hospital. I love my job so much. My co-workers are well versed in their field and teach me something new everyday. It gives me a strong appreciation for physical therapy and makes me very excited to pursue physical therapy as my career.
The best thing about GSU is… the people. Everyone is so welcoming, loving, and caring. Initially I fell in love with the campus but the people made me want to stay.
My role models are… my parents.
I would like to have the ability to… tumble like an Olympic gymnast.
My fantasy job/career would be… a physical therapist for the US Olympic Team or a professional sports team.
One thing I absolutely have to do before I turn 40 is… travel to Europe.
My post-college/career plans are… to attend physical therapy school and then work for a hospital in New York City after graduate school.
If I could bring one thing from my hometown to college, it would be… the ocean views, I really miss that when I’m at school.
The most unusual thing the average person would not know about me is… I knocked my 2 front teeth out in a sledding accident when I was 4.
