Week One: Firsts and Lasts

Happy Monday from GSUVB! Welcome to our first of many weekly updates for this season. Coming off of a hot, sweaty, tiring, yet EXCITING week of preseason, we more ready than ever to get the (volley)ball rolling this fall!

This week is one of many firsts and lasts for our Knights. For our First-Years, today is their first day of classes at Geneseo and with a little guidance and support from their veteran teammates, they are more than prepared to be stellar student-athletes! Some other big ‘firsts’ for our First-Years this week—first GSUVB team photo, first time visiting Ohio (Kat Vernon, Shea Casey, & Grace Cergol!), and last but certainly not least, their very first season opener as Knights!

As our First-Years have a week full of brand new Geneseo experiences, our seniors are learning the bittersweet feeling of having a week of ‘last firsts’. For these ladies, today is their last first day of classes at Geneseo. They’ll have their last first official team practice this week, their last team photo as Knights, and at the end of this week, they’ll compete in their last season opener at Mount Union University.

All in all, it is a week of change and excitement for Geneseo Volleyball! There will be lots of experiences, new and old, which means many memories to make and opportunities to take that will make us stronger on and off the volleyball court. We couldn’t be more ready to start the journey of our 2016-2017 season and to take each day, whether it’s our first, last, or anything in between, as a chance to be better, kinder, faster, and more committed than the day before. GO KNIGHTS!
